Complete the steps below in order to get enrolled in your Workshop course.
Your Workshop bill can have up to 4 parts, each paid at different times.
The Workshop will send you email notifications each time your IU bill changes. Be sure to check your IU emails.
If someone else is paying your IU bills, be sure to forward your billing notifications to them.
PART ONE: Tuition & University Fees
Tuition & University Fees will bill to your IU Account in April and will be due in May.
Tuition & University Fees for students enrolled after April will be due a month after enrollment.

PART TWO: Workshop Fees
Your Language Workshop Fee will bill to your account in the middle of your program.
Language Workshop fees differ from course to course. The Fee for your course is listed on the webpage for your course .
PART THREE: Housing Fees
If you are in the Chinese or Russian residential programs,
Your housing bill will be $41.15 per night that you are checked into IU housing, plus a one-time fee of $25 for bed linens.
PART FOUR: Miscellaneous Fees
Additional fees (lost ID cards, parking tickets, meal plans, etc.) may be applied to your account. They will be due in the month after they are applied.
SPECIAL CASE: Study Abroad Fee
Study-abroad programs do not charge Tuition or Workshop fees. Instead, they charge a Study-Abroad fee. Your Study Abroad Fee will post to your account four to two weeks before the start of your program.

*Your Workshop fees will bill on the regular schedule even if you have withdrawn. This can result in fees being charged several weeks after you leave the Workshop. Please monitor your account througout the summer, even if you have withdrawn, and contact languageworkshop@iu.edu if you discover problems.
If you received a scholarship or fellowship, your funding agreement will explain how and when your funds will be awarded.
If you are a current IUB student, then you already have an IU account and you do not need to obtain one. Skip to the next Step 3.
If you are a past IUB student (including a past Workshop participant) or an IUB student graduating before the start of your Workshop courses, you will need to reactivate your IU account.
To do so, fill out the Returning Student form.
Tell languageworkshop@iu.edu once your IU email and IU ID number are active.
IU graduate students will be enrolled for graduate credit automatically if it is available for your courses.
If you will graduate before the Workshop begins, please follow the instructions above for "Returning IU Bloomington students & students graduating before the start of the Workshop."
Non-IU graduate students desiring graduate credit should contact languageworkshop@iu.edu to set up a consultation to determine eligibility.

The process will be the same as for Non-IU students (above), with additional requirements in the FAMILY & RESIDENCY INFO section related to residency and visa.

If you are taking a Level One course (First Year), you do not need a placement exam. Skip to Step Four.
You must take a placement exam to ensure that you are in the course best suited to your current proficiency.
All Workshop students, including IU students, must complete the placement exam.
You will receive instructions in once you have an activated IU ID number.
You cannot be enrolled until you complete the placement exam.
Once have an IU ID number and a Placement Exam result, the Workshop will enroll you in your Workshop courses.
You will be notified once you are enrolled.
Check your enrollment details and contact languageworkshop@iu.edu if there are any issues.
If you need to withdraw from the Workshop
The Workshop will send you Housing enrollment forms after you are enrolled in your courses if you are studying in an on-campus immersion program.

The Workshop does not include a meal plan, but students can sign up for up standard IU meal plans.

Every course has a page on IU's course management system, canvas.
You will need an IU email account and ID number to access canvas.
Course pages will go live four to two weeks before classes begin.
Visit your canvas page to check for links to textbooks, instructions for pre-arrival assignments, for your syllabus, and for instructor contact information.
If you are taking an online course, check your equipment before class begins.
